UNMC is the second least-expensive among the top primary care medical schools ranked by U.S. News & World Report, according to an analysis by Becker’s ACS Review<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the top 12 ranked institutions, Becker\u2019s ASC found that UNMC, which ranked seventh in the March 2022 U.S. News list, cost $35,360 a year to attend, as opposed to $66,284 a year for Harvard, ranked ninth, or $59,126 for the University of Pittsburgh, tied for 10th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jeffrey P. Gold, MD, chancellor of UNMC, said the analysis underscored UNMC and the University of Nebraska\u2019s commitment to the people of the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cUNMC is committed to improving the health and transforming the lives of the people of Nebraska,\u201d he said. \u201cWe offer cutting-edge educational opportunities and technology \u2013 one of the reasons we are among this list of premier institutions \u2013 and we do it for a tuition cost that compares favorably to our peers. True affordability and quality education is truly high value for Nebraskans.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UNMC\u2019s College of Medicine admits approximately 130 students annually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Overall, UNMC has six colleges, two institutes and a graduate studies program, serving more than 4,400 students in about 90 programs. The med center has reported record enrollments for the past 20 years and trains more health professionals than any other institution in Nebraska.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
