The IRS deadline to submit 2022 Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account claims is Friday, March 31.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If anyone has a balance remaining in a 2022 Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account, eligible dates of service for expenses are Jan. 1, 2022, through Dec. 31, 2022. There is not a carryover for Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account funds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Employees who have a Health Care Flexible Spending Account have until Oct. 8, 2023, to submit claims from 2022. Eligible dates of service for expenses are Jan. 1, 2022, through Dec. 31, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a reminder, employees can carry forward $570 of their unused 2022 Health Care Flexible Spending Account into the current calendar year. This means that they can use the carryover funds for dates of service in 2023. All 2023 funds must be spent before accessing the carryover funds from 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Claims must be submitted to WageWorks to receive reimbursement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If employees are enrolled in the qualified high deductible health plan and utilizing a health savings account in 2023, they might want to waive the Health Care FSA carry over. If so, please contact the campus benefits office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Employees enrolled in the University of Nebraska UMR medical plans for 2022 can go to the UMR website<\/a> and select the \u201cLogin\/Register\u201d button in the upper right-hand corner of the page. Once logged in, employees can print out and save their explanation of benefits for the entire year by clicking on the claims button and entering the corresponding date range; they also can obtain copies by calling 1-844-659-5059.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Employees enrolled in the University of Nebraska Ameritas dental plan for 2022 can go to the Ameritas website<\/a> and select the \u201cAccount Access\u201d link in the upper right-hand corner of the page. Once logged in, employees can print out and save their explanation of benefits for the entire year by clicking on the claims button and entering the corresponding date range, or they can call 1-800-487-5553.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A summary of all prescriptions for the entire year can be obtained through the employee\u2019s pharmacy. But due to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) guidelines, employees need to make this request in person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To check an account balance and\/or submit a claim:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
