Jeffrey Hamik, Tammy Dowdy and Halie Smith, from the epidemiology unit in the Nebraska Department of Health & Human Services Division of Public Health, will give a presentation on \u201cTicks and Tick-Borne Diseases in Nebraska\u201d on Tuesday, March 21, at noon. The webinar is part of the Olson Center for Women\u2019s Health Brown Bag lecture series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Staff from the department’s vector-borne disease program will look at tick biology and where ticks are found, detail the ticks of medical importance in the state and the diseases associated with them and explore best practices in preventing tick bites and reducing disease risk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a free event and open to the community. Nursing credit is available for $10. Register by calling the Olson Women\u2019s Health Resource Center at 402-559-6345, by email<\/a> or through Engage<\/a>. The Zoom link will be emailed to registrants prior to the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by University of Nebraska Medical Center and Olson Center for Women\u2019s Health. University of Nebraska Medical Center is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the health care team.
