Actual cost of child care is not included.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/info.unmc.edu\/benefits\/family-benefits\/child-care.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Members of the UNMC community can view the webinar about WeeCare at this link.<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe initial response to WeeCare has been positive and is among the options available for families seeking child care services,\u201d said Sarah Gloden Carlson, JD, assistant vice chancellor and director for human resources. \u201cUNMC\u2019s Childcare Development Center continues to operate and serve the med center community.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a letter to parents Wednesday, Nebraska Medicine announced it would close its child care center, The Family Place, on Aug. 18. Hospital leaders said the decision was based on several factors, including staffing challenges, the inability to remain in the current space at Clarkson College and the costs associated with running the center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A local news report subsequently, and incorrectly, stated the UNMC center would be closing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThat is not the case,\u201d Gloden Carlson said. \u201cThe Family Place is not connected to UNMC\u2019s Childcare Development Center, which remains open.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>UNMC and Nebraska Medicine recently partnered with WeeCare, a 24\/7 dedicated support that connects families with flexible, affordable quality&nbsp;and licensed in-home child care providers, babysitters, nannies&nbsp;and backup care. WeeCare services include a dedicated care manager that works with employees to find the best options for their child care needs (including weekend, nighttime&nbsp;and backup care) based on their price
