Submissions now are being accepted for the fifth annual Heartland Interprofessional Education Conference, which will be hosted by UNMC on July 27-28.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Conference participants will share knowledge, build skills, experience professional development and form collaborative relationships among learners, scholars and practitioners in health care and interprofessional education. This year\u2019s conference will focus on collaborating for competency \u2013 in learning, research and practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s wonderful to see UNMC colleagues, including students, taking advantage of this opportunity to share the work they are doing in interprofessional education and collaborative practice,\u201d said conference director Devin Nickol, MD, and associate dean for interprofessional education at UNMC. \u201cUNMC has a strong national reputation in IPE, and the HIPE conference is a chance to showcase everything that\u2019s happening statewide to make that possible.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UNMC faculty and students are encouraged to attend and submit abstracts of presentations, workshops and posters that complement the overall theme, \u201cCollaborating for Competency: Promoting Interprofessional Education and Practice.\u201d Abstracts must be submitted by May 31.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two-day conference will be available online on July 27 and in-person only on July 28 in the Truhlsen Events Center inside UNMC\u2019s Sorrell Center. Attendees will hear from national speakers, as well as take part in workshops and both oral and poster presentations. The accredited continuing education activity is designed for practitioners, educators, clinicians, researchers, learners, policymakers and others interested in interprofessional education and practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants may attend the full conference or a portion of it; student registration rates are available. Anyone interested in attending should register by July 19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
