The fifth annual Graduate Medical Education Research Symposium will be held on May 3 from 4-6:30 p.m. in the Sorrell Center\u2019s Truhlsen Events Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt is always exciting to showcase the research of our residents and fellows,\u201d said Chandra Are, MBBS, the UNMC College of Medicine\u2019s associate dean of graduate medical education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The symposium will provide the opportunity for house officers to present their research in all avenues, including clinical outcomes, basic science, education, business, health policy and humanities. Dr. Are said close to 110 research abstracts \u2013 in both oral and poster formats \u2013 will be presented at the event, nearly 40 more than when the symposium first premiered in 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, MD, and UNMC College of Medicine Dean Bradley Britigan, MD, will open the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event is being held live for only the second time since the beginning of the pandemic, and Dr. Are said all members of the UNMC community are invited to attend and show support to the residents and fellows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
