The UNMC College of Allied Health Professions physician assistant program was ranked 16th in the nation in U.S. News & World Report rankings for 2024 released April 25.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The UNMC program was ranked among 211 programs nationwide, which puts UNMC\u2019s physician assistant program in the top 8% of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The U.S. News rankings usually include medical schools, but the magazine said medical and law school rankings will be delayed this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The UNMC College of Public Health was ranked 55th<\/sup> of 202 public health programs in the country this year, while the UNMC College of Nursing Doctor of Nursing Practice program was ranked 62nd<\/sup> out of 169 programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

U.S. News does not rank each health program every year. The UNMC College of Pharmacy continues to be ranked 28th and the physical therapy program 34th<\/sup> in the nation, the rankings they were given in 2020, as the magazine did not re-rank the programs. UNMC is ranked 56th<\/sup> in biostatistics, first ranked in 2022. It also is ranked 100th in biological sciences (2022) and 119th<\/sup> in chemistry (2023).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are pleased to see these UNMC programs listed among the top in the country once again,\u201d said UNMC Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, MD. \u201cThese rankings show UNMC\u2019s commitment toward delivering a world-class education across all programs.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSeeing our programs nationally ranked among the best in the nation reflects upon the dedication of our faculty and students,\u201d said Dele Davies, MD, senior vice chancellor for academic affairs. \u201cThis comes on the heels of a strong commitment to meet the needs of underserved parts of rural and urban Nebraska.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis ranking acknowledges the significant contributions UNMC makes to the health care system in Nebraska and the nation,\u201d said Kyle Meyer, PhD, dean of the UNMC College of Allied Health Professions. \u201cIt speaks volumes about the quality of the program, our faculty, staff and students and the amazing network of preceptors that support our program.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
