The Child Health Research Institute will hold its annual Pediatric Research Forum on May 11 and 12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The forum provides an opportunity for investigators to share their current pediatric research projects via abstract submissions and a poster session. The event especially is aimed at giving research presentation opportunities to learners. Trainee awards will be given for entries in categories of undergraduate students, medical students, graduate students (master and doctoral) and residents\/fellows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Forum events will start in the Glow Auditorium at Children\u2019s Hospital & Medical Center at 4:30 p.m. on May 11 with welcoming comments by Ann Anderson Berry, MD, PhD, CHRI executive director. CHRI member Sidharth Mahapatra, MD, PhD, associate professor in the UNMC Department of Pediatrics and Department of Biochemistry, will deliver the keynote speech, \u201cFrom Barley to Brains: Lessons Learned on my Path to Independence.\u201d First place award winners in each submission category will present their research following Dr. Mahapatra\u2019s talk. A reception and poster exhibit in Children\u2019s Solarium will conclude the evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the morning of May 12, as part of Children\u2019s weekly grand rounds, pediatrics resident Katie Kim, DO, will present on \u201cEvaluating Placental Passage and Teratogenicity of N-nitrosoatrazine in a Pregnant Rat Model\u201d in the Glow Auditorium. The UNMC Department of Pediatrics then will announce the winners of its annual teaching and academic awards. Dr. Kim\u2019s talk and the award ceremony will be available virtually through grand rounds Zoom link. All are welcome to attend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
