{"id":99764,"date":"2023-05-18T11:08:16","date_gmt":"2023-05-18T16:08:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/?p=99764"},"modified":"2023-11-03T11:09:52","modified_gmt":"2023-11-03T16:09:52","slug":"maggie-neujahr-named-manager-of-care-coordination-program-at-mmi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2023\/05\/18\/maggie-neujahr-named-manager-of-care-coordination-program-at-mmi\/","title":{"rendered":"Maggie Neujahr named manager of care coordination program at MMI"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\">\n<p>Maggie Neujahr loves a good collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In her day-to-day work at the Munroe-Meyer Institute, she collaborates with colleagues, community partners and other agencies to connect families with the proper resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI always say it takes a village,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Neujahr will have more opportunity for collaboration after being named manager of the care coordination program at MMI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The care coordination program is a team of social workers, parent resource coordinators, interpreters and social work students working together to provide patient care, services and resources to families at the institute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Not only does she care deeply about our patients and families we serve and provide the highest quality support, she has shown the same care and support to her immediate team, as well as other departments across the institute,&#8221; said MMI Associate Director Amy Nordness, PhD, when announcing the appointment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the manager role, Neujahr will supervise the parent resource coordinators and translators at MMI, as well as create a resource center for families. In addition to Neujahr\u2019s new role, she will devote half of her time to patient care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m excited to tackle more of the administrative and managerial duties, but I know to make my heart full I needed to still do that patient care piece,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Neujahr\u2019s six years at MMI, she\u2019s won two Silver U Awards and earned a nomination for the Phoenix Award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Neujahr said she\u2019s excited to see the department grow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe collaboration between families and providers is so important, and we are that piece that can be there to hold families\u2019 hands along this journey,\u201d she said. \u201cWe\u2019re that safety net for
