Jenny Kreikemeier was recognized for exemplary work by Debra Romberger, MD, chair of the UNMC Department of Internal Medicine.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Name: <\/strong>Jenny Kreikemeier<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Title: &nbsp;<\/strong>Administrative associate<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Hometown: <\/strong>West Point, Nebraska<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Talk about your job and what you like best about it:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>There are generally not two days in a row that are the same, and I enjoy the daily and hourly changes that occur and the balancing act of redirecting what\u2019s important now.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In this role, I have gotten to meet so many of the faculty throughout our entire internal medicine department as well as the administrators and support staff. &nbsp;I enjoy the interaction I have with everyone, and I love being a resource for whatever comes up and being able to help and trouble shoot with them. It can be challenging but so rewarding at the same time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>I like directly supporting\/working with Dr. Debra Romberger and the department. I enjoy the pressure of being her \u201cgo-to\u201d person for whatever she needs for herself, a faculty member or staff or the entire department. I remember asking, when I took this job, how I could make an impact on day one, and I was told \u201chelping to manage my calendar.\u201d &nbsp;My thought process is the more I can do for Dr. Romberger and the department is one thing less for her or someone else to do, freeing up their time and energy for other more pressing\/important things.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>List three things people may not know about you:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>I was homecoming queen back in 1987.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I went to college on a basketball scholarship, until I was in a car accident that injured my knee and shoulder, and majored in elementary education.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I married a farm boy from West Point, Nebraska, and the first 11 years of our marriage we raised hogs and cattle on a small farm outside of town before moving to the big city of Omaha in 2000.\u00a0We\u2019re celebrating 35 years of marriage this month and have three children and four grandchildren.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"\/secure-location.php\" style=\"display: none;\" title=\"bAY DzfT QIQK\"><!-- bAY DzfT QIQK
