UNMC is one of Nebraska’s Safest Companies<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the 14th<\/sup> consecutive year, UNMC has been named one of Nebraska\u2019s Safest Companies<\/a> by the National Safety Council-Nebraska Chapter. The safety council credited the companies with implementing safety initiatives designed to reduce injuries and save lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UNMC was among the organizations recognized May 15 during a luncheon at the LaVista Convention Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

John Hauser, UNMC safety manager and chair of the UNMC Safety Leadership Team, said the award is due to the ongoing efforts of the UNMC Safety Leadership Team, UNMC Employee Safety Committee, Environmental Safety and Health and all UNMC Employees, faculty and staff who maintain a focus on safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2023 Greater Omaha Heart & Stroke Walk<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

UNMC and Nebraska Medicine walkers teamed to raise $4,562.68 at this year’s American Heart Association’s Greater Omaha Heart Walk last Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There were 15 UNMC and Nebraska Medicine teams and 96 med center participants. As of this week, the event had raised $387,716.07 overall. Donations will continue to be accepted until July 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Heart Walk is the American Heart Association’s premier event in the community. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lunch vendor on Tuesday<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

One lunch vendor will be on the UNMC Omaha campus for the week of May 29-June 2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Faculty, staff and students should note the schedule still is being established as lunch vendors return to campus, and more vendors are expected to be added over time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
