- Why were you interested in the Honors Research Program?
- I always new that I wanted to advance my education past my BSN but wasn't exactly sure in what direction. This Honors Research Program was a way to learn about a research future, and I was excited to actually get an inside look into this possible route I could pursue.
- Project Title: Pathway to Cure: Timely and appropriate care for women under 50 diagnoses with breast cancer
- Faculty Mentor: Robyn Lally, PhD, MS, BA, RN, AOCN
- What opportunities have you gained from participating in the Honors Research Program?
- Through this program and working with my mentor on our project, I have had the opportunity to attend multidisciplinary conferences at the Buffett Cancer Center where I was able to listen to doctors, surgeons, and pathologist present on new patients. Soon I will also get the opportunity to present in a poster presentation on our project.
- What has been the most beneficial part of participating in the Honors Research Program?
- The most beneficial part of this class is just learning more about what it takes to get your PhD and the different avenues you can utilize it in. Learning about writing important documents such as curriculum vitae, resume, and personal statements has also been incredible beneficial, especially because they can translate to any future careers you may end up pursuing.
