Major Points of Consideration
- Funding is available for rural students
- Flexible hour requirement 20+ hours/week during summer at discretion of CON, allows for opportunity to fulfill other work obligations
- Remote access to program available for students outside of Omaha
- Anonymous Divisions NOT listed on application, students from all Divisions have equal opportunity to be selected
- Strategic placement with faculty based on applicant quality and research fit
- Variety of options for student/faculty placement
- Student and faculty are from the same Division, both outside of Omaha
- The student can complete all work requirements at their Division and virtually connect to SURP sessions held in Omaha
- Occasional travel to Omaha may be required based on SURP’s preference, but the cost for the student will be covered
- Student from a Division outside of Omaha/Lincoln best matches with faculty in Omaha
- Funding is available for them to relocate to Omaha for the summer
- Student would then go back to their Division to complete the remainder of the program
- Student and faculty are from the same Division, both outside of Omaha
