Biography

Dana Samson began teaching at UNMC College of Nursing West Nebraska Division nearly twenty years ago. She has been a staunch supporter of nursing students, meeting them at their academic level and encouraging them to create their nursing identity by incorporating nursing theory and evidence-based practice into their care. She is a proponent of client autonomy and client-centered care. She has been rewarded with continued encounters with former students; so much, that she will never change her personal cell phone number. Currently, she serves as a part-time instructor and an ATI Champion for the West Nebraska Division. Dana and her husband, Tom, have a son, Scott, a daughter-in-law, Larissa, and two adorable grandpuppies, Mick and JD.
