Biography


Ernestine (Tina) Maldonado Cook is a native of San Antonio, Texas, but has lived in Nebraska now for 45 years. She holds an Associate Degree from San Antonio College , and her BSN from the University of the Incarnate Word. She has worked in Pediatric Hematology, and in various positions in Nursing service in San Antonio. Upon moving to Omaha, she started in a teaching position and changed to care of adult Med-Surg patients. Mrs. Cook earned her Master of Science in Nursing at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, College of Nursing in Omaha. She had a double major in Nursing Education and Administration. She has been employed at the UNMC College of Nursing campus her entire teaching career; save the years she accompanied her husband Colonel Michael J. Cook (Ret.) on military to Athens, Greece. Her children Linda and Michael are Nebraska natives.

Mrs. Cook is an avid Husker football fan!! Her favorite pastimes are sewing, beading and jewelry making. She has been an election worker in Sarpy county for 22 years and is an active member at St. Mary’s Catholic church in Bellevue. Go BIG RED forever!!
