Biography

Dr. Stamler joined the College in 2014 as the Associate Dean for Academic Programs. She has practiced and/or taught in three states and three provinces (Canada). She holds two U.S. degrees (BSN [St. Olaf College, MN], PhD [University of Cincinnati, College of Nursing and Health]) and one Canadian degree (MEd [University of Manitoba]) as well as an honorary doctorate. She has practiced in several clinical areas, including ICU, long term care, rehabilitation, and home health. She has taught all levels of nursing education from the diploma to the PhD. Her research interests are eclectic (diabetes, breast health, booster seats for children, leadership), but the common thread is the teaching-learning process, be it through patient education or nursing education and leadership. She is active in nursing organizations such as Sigma Theta Tau International, and was President of the Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing from 2008-2010.
