Biography

Dr. Gatere is a Clinical Assistant Professor with board certification in psychiatry/mental health. She received her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from UNMC College of Nursing and her Bachelor of Nursing degree from Nebraska Methodist College. She also holds Master of Public Health from UNMC, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Northwest Missouri State University. She is currently supervising graduate students in the psychiatry track classes at UNMC’s College of Nursing. She is practicing as a psychiatry specialist in a primary care clinic and holds practice licenses in Nebraska and Iowa.

In her public health role, Dr. Gatere has focused on improving maternal and child health outcomes in underserved communities as well as community health education.
