Biography
Shelly Amsberry’s nursing education began at Bryan Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1982 where she earned a diploma in nursing. She received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2011 and a Master of Science in Nursing Leadership Bryan College of Health Sciences in December 2017. Ms. Amsberry is currently enrolled in the Education Doctorate with Emphasis in Nursing Education at Bryan College of Health Sciences and anticipates completion of her degree in May 2022.
Ms. Amsberry’s research interests are nursing civility, academic integrity, and professional identity in nursing. Her dissertation research is a grounded theory study on the Nurse Educators’ Professional Identity Formation. She includes her students in her past and current research through discussion, active learning, and role modeling/mentoring.
