The Senior Health Promotion Center is staffed every Thursday by students of the College of Nursing to receive real life community health nursing experiences as part of a course instructed by Rita Antonson, RN, MSN, GNP.
The services provided in the clinic are:
- Foot Care
- Ear Wax Removal
- Blood Glucose Screenings
- Cholesterol Screenings
- Blood Pressure Screenings
- Health Promotion Education
For those patients who need it, transportation is provided free of charge.
Annually, the College of Nursing holds a flu shot clinic at the Senior Center. Students have the opportunity to expand their nursing skills while providing elderly patients with flu shots, pneumonia vaccines, and prevention services.
