Ready for the next step?
These essential science and liberal arts courses — totaling 58 credits -- are available from any accredited community college, 4-year college or university. Apply to UNMC once you’ve completed about 12 of the 17 required prerequisite courses and will have the remainder of your required courses completed before the program starts in August.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 or above (on a 4.0 scale) for prerequisite courses.
- Minimum grade of C+ (2.67) is required in each prerequisite.
- Two professional references. These should not be from friends or family members.
- Current CNA Certificate.
- Personal Statement of approximately 500 words answering these questions:
- What motivates you to become a BSN-prepared nurse?
- What is your vision of your nursing career?
- What mark will you leave in health care?
Submit your application through the Centralized Application Service for Nursing Programs.
You may save and return to your application until you are ready to submit it.
You will self-enter all college coursework, including prerequisites and any courses taken for credit during high school, courses completed through placement exam and all courses in progress.
After you submit your application, NursingCAS will add your references and transcripts to it as they are submitted. Monitor progress through your NursingCAS account and through your email.
