UNMC nurse scientists lead innovative programs of research that impact healthcare, patients, policy, and the community. Research areas of emphasis include cardiovascular health, cancer survivorship, and symptom science, as well as much of our research address social determinants of health and health disparities. Our Center for Patient, Family and Community Engagement in Chronic Care Management (CENTRIC) provides pilot funding, learning opportunities and mentorship to foster collaborative, interdisciplinary research led by nurse scientists with a common focus on “Technology and Interventions for Self-management: Promoting Access and Equity Across the Lifespan” to strategically leverage knowledge and resources.
UNMC nursing research is funded by intramural and extramural sources including NIH, HRSA, IDeA-CTR, CENTRIC, UNMC Vice Chancellor for Research Office, Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center.
