SPEAKER 0 Hi, my name is Doctor Rana. I'm the chair of OB-GYN here at Nebraska Medicine UNMC and I'm also the founder of this program that we created, EMBRACE Nebraska. Thank you for watching this video. We want to talk to you about this program that we created, which we're calling EMBRACE Nebraska, which stands for Excellence in Maternal Birth Outcomes Through Rigorous Assessment and Community Engagement. Essentially, we know that the maternal mortality in Nebraska is high, and we have several barriers to excellent care, such as distance that the person has to travel to, uh, for example, for MFM (Maternal-Fetal Medicine) care. The quality of ultrasound as well as a lot of hospitals which obviously are providing good OB care, but, um, for example, low numbers and also the distance that the patient has to travel to access, for example, some of these high level care. So under our program we are actually collaborating with a lot of sites that Briley will talk about and we have several programs such as management of blood pressure, which we're calling STAMPP hypertension. Essentially it's a telehealth, uh, remote patient monitoring based program which manages a person's blood pressure for 6 weeks postpartum. We are talking about programs such as biomarkers, which are these tests that can be done that differentiates patients who are at high risk or low risk to develop preeclampsia related adverse outcomes. We're also talking about programs such as training for L&D (labor and delivery) staff, for example, in some of these rural hospitals, as well as ultrasound training and access to higher level of MFM and ultrasound care. Um, so again, thank you for listening to me and I'll have Briley talk more about all these collaborating sites that we are trying to establish all across Nebraska. SPEAKER 1 Hi, I'm Briley Patterson. I am the program manager for EMBRACE Nebraska. Thank you for watching our video. I'd love to talk more about the sites we're collaborating with in rural Nebraska to help improve maternal care. So far, we have met and visited over 20 different [map of Nebraska with some cities listed and purple stars next to areas the EMBRACE team has visited] hospitals and clinics in Nebraska, including Valentine, Nebraska, Mary Lanning, Beatrice, and a small one, Fillmore County. We are working with these clinics and hospitals to develop these programs that Doctor Rana spoke about, and we're very excited to continue to collaborate and partner with the rest of Nebraska to improve maternal care. For more information, please feel free to email me and let us know if you would like to connect with us. SPEAKER 0 Thank you.
