UNMC’s Residency Rural Training Track is a program developed by the department of family medicine that prepares residents to practice in rural areas. Established in 1991, the program is now the largest in the nation. Norfolk is a rural training site.
Children’s Dental Day provides free comprehensive dental care for at-risk children. More than $2.5 million in services has been delivered through the event. UNMC’s College of Dentistry has held the event twice a year since 2001.
UNMC’s College of Nursing, Norfolk Division opened is located on the Northeast Community College and opened in August 2010.
