[THEME MUSIC] RHONDA WRIGHT: The child neurology residency is a joint effort between UNMC and Children's Nebraska. The adult neurology aspect will be mostly at UNMC. The child neurology aspect will be at UNMC and children's Nebraska, both. 

SOOKYONG KOH: Children's Nebraska is the only freestanding Children's Hospital in Nebraska. We tend to take care of everyone. It really provides a variety of different neurological conditions, so the resident will be exposed to all the different kinds of neurological disorder. 

WOMAN: This is a great opportunity for a resident who has a lot of drive, and who has a good idea of whether they want to do clinical care, whether they like to do research. All of those opportunities are available here. The resident will be able to individualize their curriculum within the limitations of ACGME to really meet their goals. So if they're looking for a clinical practice, they can do lots of clinics. If they're looking for lab research, we have faculty that are involved in that. 

SOOKYONG KOH: We've been accredited for a level 4 epilepsy center, and children's Nebraska is able to provide comprehensive epilepsy care. 

WOMAN: We have neurosciences department and we all work in the same clinic space. All of the subspecialties and all of the services that we need to care for our patients. 

MARIA CRISTINA RISHOI: There's always an attending or a neurologist around. There's always neurologists around, APPs around, nurses around. And I feel like if there's a question-- when I was in clinic, if there's a question when you that I had about a patient, it was very easy to come and just like chat to the neurologist next to me and say, hey, can you take a look at this MRI. What are your thoughts? 

WOMAN: Our goal for the residents is to have them practice in the setting that they are striving for, whether it's private practice, whether it's a hospital-based practice or an academic practice. 

SOOKYONG KOH: Because it's a new program, we will be taking very good attention and care of resident who comes to join our program.
