Taylor Losole, MD

What was your first job?

What is the furthest you've traveled from Omaha?
Thailand for a girl’s trip!

Where did you go for undergraduate and medical school?
I went to Loyola University Chicago for undergraduate and St. George’s University for medical school.

What are your career aspirations?
To be an active participant in hematology/oncology research, academics and medicine.

If you couldn't work in medicine, what would you do?
I think I would be an archaeologist. I know nothing about it but digging up bones seems like fun.

Why did you choose pediatric hematology/oncology?
The field is evolving and changing so quickly, I will always be learning new things in my career.  Also, you get to know the patient, and get to be there from diagnosis through treatment.  You’re there in the worst times but also the best times!

What is your most fond moment in medicine up to this point?
Seeing how resilient our patients are, during treatment or in follow up they’re always tough and able to make you smile.

If you only had one day, what is the best thing to do in Nebraska?
EAT! Omaha has the best food and lots of hidden gems.
