Shirley F. Delair, M.D., MPH

delairDr. Shirley Delair is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases, and the Director of Pediatric Residency Global Health Program at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) in Omaha, Nebraska. Dr. Delair is a Travel Medicine Specialist at Children’s Hospital & Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Dr. Delair serves as a physician consultant for the Immunization Task Force – Metro Omaha and is a volunteer physician at the Pediatric Tuberculosis Clinic at OneWorld Community Health Center.

Dr. Delair received her MD degree from the University CES in Medellin, Colombia. She subsequently completed her Pediatric Residency at the Saint Joseph’s Children’s Hospital in Paterson, New Jersey followed by an Infectious Disease Fellowship at the Mattel’s Children’s Hospital UCLA in Los Angeles, California. She completed a MPH in epidemiology form the UNMC College of Public Health. She is certified by the ABP in pediatrics and pediatric infectious diseases. She is also certified in Travel Medicine by the International Society of Travel medicine (ISTM).

Dr. Delair has research interests and publications in newborn infections, sexually transmitted infections (including HIV), global infectious diseases surveillance, and epidemiology.
