- Accessibility of experienced attending– Attending physicians are easily available to answer questions, problem solve and discuss cases at any point in the day.
- Our attending physicians of pulmonologists, allergists, immunologists, otolaryngologists and other specialists have over 160 years of collected experience in providing care for children and adolescents with respiratory disorders.
- Ancillary staff is enjoyable to work with and eager to teach. We are fortunate to have very savvy respiratory therapists in both the inpatient and outpatient setting, who are always willing to teach.
- We are the only referral center for pediatrics in Nebraska and Western Iowa.
- A wide variety of respiratory problems are seen in a beautifully designed care center with easy physical access to personnel and facility.
- Our Cystic Fibrosis Center outcomes are consistently in the upper percentiles.
- Call – Fellow call responsibilities are shared with advanced practice providers. All call is pager call. The first year fellow is on call one weekend a month, the second and third year fellows are on call one weekend every two months. The fellow has weekday evening call one to two times per week.
- Further Training - The University of Nebraska Medical Center offers a one year sleep medicine fellowship for those interested.
