One of the objectives of the Office of Postdoctoral Education is to facilitate postdocs’ timely transition to an independent career. Such transition on the part of a scholar requires early preparation, the ability to define career objectives within their chosen area of research, productivity, fellowship with other scholars, and independence within the laboratory environment. This award is to recognize postdocs for their research accomplishments through an oral presentation. The presentation should be no longer than twelve minutes in length and will take place during the Annual UNMC Postdoctoral Pathway to Independence Award Ceremony and Luncheon. A first place winner will be awarded a cash prize of $1,000 and a runner-up will be awarded a cash prize of $600. All applications chosen for presentation will be notified by e-mail.
