Biographical Sketch:
Dr. Cates is the Director of Behavioral Health at Nebraska Medicine and the Vice Chair of Clinical Operations in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He specializes in Child Clinical Psychology and treats children, adolescents and their families suffering from disruptive behavior disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, Tourette’s disorder, mood disorders and anxiety disorders. Dr. Cates is also the Behavioral Health Consultant to the Nebraska Medicine Biocontainment Unit and the National Quarantine Center.

Dr. Cates is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Nebraska Psychological Association where he serves on the Ethics Committee.  In addition to over 50 invited presentations, he has authored or coauthored 10 peer-reviewed journal articles, 2 book chapters and 6 presentations at regional, national and international conferences.
