Biographical Sketch:
Amy has twenty years of professional experience in the field of Social Work. Early in her career she worked in adolescent group homes, providing direct care to children with complex mental health and social needs. 

Post graduate school, she worked as a Program Coordinator for those living with HIV in San Francisco, California.  Since 2010, Amy has worked at Nebraska Medicine.  Her initial role was forming the Social Work department during the opening of Nebraska Medicine Bellevue.  Additionally, she has worked as an inpatient Medical Social Worker, in the Emergency Department addressing acute mental health crisis, and at The Home Instead Center for Successful Aging.  Amy has provided individual mental health therapy since 2018 in private practice and most recently in Geriatric Psychiatry at Nebraska Medicine. 

Amy uses a variety of therapy modalities to address patient needs, including CBT and relational therapy.  Common focus of therapy for Geriatric patients includes grief, anxiety and depression related to aging and illness, caregiver fatigue and special needs for those living with cognitive decline.  

Other special interests of Amy's include LGBTQ+ care and working with healthcare professionals.
