Biographical Sketch:
Dr. Sheehan completed fellowship training in Consult Liaison(CL) Psychiatry and is a subspecialist focused on the care of complex patients with both psychiatric and medical conditions. Dr. Sheehan works extensively in all areas of CL psychiatry and provides psychiatric inpatient consultation throughout the hospital. She has particular expertise in Reproductive Psychiatry, Psycho-Oncology, ICU Psychiatry, and Transplant Psychiatry. In the outpatient setting, she has unique clinics where she works closely with other specialties such as Obstetrics and Gynecology and Oncology to ensure patients have informed, comprehensive medical and psychiatric care. Dr. Sheehan also incorporates therapies such as CBT and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. Dr. Sheehan is a member of the American Psychiatric Association and the Academy of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry.

Dr. Sheehan is passionate about medical ethics and has served on hospital ethics and complex case committees. In addition, her academic work also focuses on teaching, and improving hospital processes to create better healthcare systems. As a CL Psychiatrist, she is skilled at reaching across specialties and bringing healthcare teams together for the betterment of patient care. She is passionate about integrating and consolidating medical and psychiatric treatments for some of our most vulnerable patients, including patients with cancer and pregnant and post-partum mothers.
