Biographical Sketch:
Mark Aksamit holds many roles in both the UNMC College of Allied Health and the Department of Psychiatry within the UNMC College of Medicine. Aksamit is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Physician Assistant Education and Lead Physician Assistant in the Department of Psychiatry, a role he took over in 2018. He is the Co-Director of the UNMC Psychiatry Department Treatment Resistant Depression Subspecialty, Clinical Preceptor for physician assistant and nurse practitioner students as well as a member of the Nebraska Medicine APP Leadership Committee.
Aksamit has presented at several major conferences, including the Diabetes Education Center of The Midlands 35th Annual Symposium and the 3rd Annual Advanced Practice Provider Conference. Aksamit received the UNMC Department of Psychiatry William H. Roccaforte Citizenship Award in 2019 and was named UNMC Department of Psychiatry Non-Faculty Teacher of the Year Award in 2020.
