Biographical Sketch:
I have been a child and adolescent psychiatric nurse since 1995, working in residential and inpatient care before joining the UNMC Department of Psychiatry in 1998 as a pediatric psychopharmacology research coordinator. Our research included clinical trials for the treatment of preschool and school-age-ADHD, pediatric anxiety disorders and adolescent depression, as well as familial genetics of ADHD and rating scale development. I became a psychiatric nurse practitioner in 2004 and began a clinical practice in developmental and behavioral pediatrics, serving children and families in Omaha and in outstate communities. I returned to the department of psychiatry full-time in 2020 as the department’s lead research coordinator for locally and nationally funded projects combining clinical trials with neuroimaging modalities. I have served on the UNMC Institutional Review Board since 2006 and was appointed as a Vice Chair in 2017. My clinical practice is primarily with children and adolescents, but I also follow adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. My research interests include interventions and outcomes for children and adolescents with disruptive mood and behavior disorders. I enjoy combining research with clinical practice to improve outcomes for patients and families.
