In collaboration with the Agency for Healthcare Research & Quality, the ECHO Institute at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center (UNMHSC) is leading a National Nursing Home COVID-19 Safety Program and the UNMC College of Public Health is taking part in the initiative. The purpose of the program is to rapidly assist 15,000 Nursing Homes in the United States to develop the capabilities to consistently implement evidence-based best practices to prevent COVID-19 from entering nursing homes, preventing spread of the virus if it does enter nursing homes, and providing care for patients and staff who test positive for COVID-19.
