{"id":243,"date":"2023-09-08T15:48:56","date_gmt":"2023-09-08T20:48:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/publichealth\/cghad\/together-for-ece\/?p=243"},"modified":"2024-05-14T11:25:42","modified_gmt":"2024-05-14T16:25:42","slug":"announcing-phase-3-together-for-early-childhood-evidence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/publichealth\/cghad\/together-for-ece\/2023\/09\/08\/announcing-phase-3-together-for-early-childhood-evidence\/","title":{"rendered":"Announcing Phase 3: Together for Early Childhood Evidence\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\"><div class=\"wp-block-post-date\"><time datetime=\"2023-09-08T15:48:56-05:00\">September 8, 2023<\/time><\/div>\n\n\n<p><strong>Author:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text is-stacked-on-mobile\" style=\"grid-template-columns:20% auto\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"230\" height=\"260\" src=\"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/publichealth\/cghad\/together-for-ece\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/230xabbie-raikes.png\" alt=\"Profile Picture of Abbie Raikes\" class=\"wp-image-123 size-full\"\/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p><em><strong>Dr. Abbie Raikes<\/strong>, Director, Center for Global Health and Development &amp; Associate Professor, Founder of ECD Measure and T4ECE Team Leader<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>I am happy to announce Phase 3 of USAID CATALYZE Together for Early Childhood Evidence (T4ECE): Consortium on Pre-primary Data and Measurement in Africa, implemented by Palladium through the University of Nebraska Medical Center\/ECD Measure!&nbsp;We have learned a lot since launching this consortium in 2018, and we\u2019re excited to share plans for Phase 3 from 2023 through 2025.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under Phase 3, we will continue to build collaborations among researchers, NGOs, government officials, and other early childhood stakeholders to promote evidence in early childhood education (ECE).&nbsp; Since starting, our network has grown to more than 1,000 members!&nbsp;We look forward to convening both virtually and in person with the T4ECE network to explore how ECE data can help improve children\u2019s learning and development in the years before they enter formal schooling.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We will also continue to support country teams in sub-Saharan Africa to use evidence for improvements in ECE under CATALYZE T4ECE.&nbsp;We are excited to officially welcome the Malawi country team as part of T4ECE.&nbsp; They will work with our continuing country task force teams in Ethiopia, Liberia, Rwanda, and South Africa to identify the greatest needs and opportunities to leverage efforts.&nbsp;Most excitingly, building on the success of the local country-driven research projects <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/publichealth\/cghad\/partnerships\/together_for_ece\/documents\/rtac_t4ece_country-research-projects_brief_508.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">implemented under the previous phase<\/a> (2021-2022), T4ECE will provide a second round of funding to the country task force teams as they continue to explore how pre-primary systems can better use data to improve young children\u2019s early learning experiences.
