Water, Climate and Health Program

Housed in the UNMC College of Public Health Department of Environmental, Agricultural & Occupational Health, the Water, Climate and Health Program brings together experts from UNMC, the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources and the Robert B. Daugherty Water for Food Global Institute at the University of Nebraska to address Nebraska’s most pressing public health issues related to water and climate.

The mission of the Water, Climate and Health Program is to bring together expertise and resources to form collaborations to advance our understanding of public health challenges related to water and climate, and to create solutions to these challenges. We will accomplish this through research, education, policy development, and training.

Our vision is to improving the health of Nebraskans by addressing our environmental challenges.

Goals:

  1. Conduct and disseminate research on public health issues related to water and climate.
  2. Education and outreach with the citizens of Nebraska on public health issues related to water and climate.
  3. Work to create policy solutions to improve the health of our citizens.
  4. Train the next generation of public health professionals researching topics at the intersection of water, climate and health.
