Macarena Garcia, DrPH, MPS, MIS
Macarena Garcia, DrPH, MPS, MIS, is an assistant professor in the Department of Epidemiology of the UNMC College of Public Health. She also is a senior health scientist in the Division for Global HIV & TB at the Global Health Center of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Previously, she was an assistant professor in the Department of Public Health at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She also served as a senior technical adviser for for the U.S. Agency for International Development, Management Sciences for Health, and Chemonics International.
Dr. Garcia was a country program director for Lesotho on the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief at the U.S. Agency for International Development, for which she also had served as a deputy country coordinator for Vietnam, and a program manager for Nigeria through Catholic Relief Services.
