Research Interests

Dr. Bertmann has expertise conducting research in food security, food access, breastfeeding, and health promotion among low-income ethnic minority populations. Her research focus has been to identify key attributes of Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) implementation, improving SNAP utilization, food system sustainability and assessing food sufficiency and hunger-coping behavior through novel technology.
