Research Interests

Research interests include health communication and community engagement. My work includes using marketing principles to influence health behavior (Social Marketing) and creating environments that foster sustainable behavior change. My research covers a broad area and recent projects include exclusive breastfeeding among low-income working mothers, engaging farm women in developing farm injury prevention strategies, assessing stakeholder and service users’ perceptions of behavioral health services, and the impact of telepresence technologies on medical decision making. My work focuses communication and emphasizes the processes, including community engagement, used to initiate and sustain behavior change.
