Applied Practice Experience (APEx) and Capstone Experience (CE)

About

The Applied Practice Experience (APEx) and Capstone Experience (CE) are required of all students in the MPH program. These experiences are intended to contribute to the health of the population and provide students with learning and further development of public health competencies under the guidance and supervision of professionals.

The APEx is centered on the principle of mutual benefit to the student and the partner organization/community. The experience is derived from needs identified by the partner organization to benefit the community they serve. Students should meet with Ms. Laura Vinson (laura.vinson@unmc.edu) or Dr. Brandon Grimm (blgrimm@unmc.edu) for support in developing this experience.

The CE is a student-directed study supervised by a CE committee comprised of at least two COPH faculty members. Students should meet with their academic advisor for support in developing this experience.
