Photo and video services
Hundreds more images of campus and staff members are available for employees through an online, secure photo database. If you are an employee and would like access, email your request to Kent Sievers.
Online Photo/Video Requests
Strategic Communications has a staff photographer, Kent Sievers, and two staff videographers, Multimedia Manager Richard Watson and Videographer Joy Madie Beatie, as well as a list of photographers and videographers who are preferred vendors. Each of these photographers has specific strengths, and we can match those strengths with your needs and budget.
For assistance with a UNMC need for photography or videography, please click on the appropriate button below to submit a request.

Free Headshot Thursdays
Faculty/staff headshots are taken at no charge from noon to 1 p.m. on most Thursdays at the top of the stairs in the southeast corner of the Sorrell Center's south atrium.
Space is limited. Individuals will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis.
These reservations must be made at least one week in advance, and a cost center is not required.
The primary focus for the UNMC Strategic Communications photo/videographers is to promote the university as a whole through the website and other digital and print platforms.
Individual departments/units may request photos/videos for a fee. Not all requests will be approved. Priority will be given to those that have the most potential impact in promoting UNMC to an external audience. Requests must be made two weeks in advance and must include the cost center to be approved.
UNMC Best Practices
Dynamic, illustrative images that highlight your college or department mission are preferred. While you might be tempted to request group shots for your website, understand that group shots hold little informative value, the individuals in the groups are generally pictured elsewhere on the website such as faculty pages, and faces in group shots tend to be too small to see on the mobile platform.
For those reasons, group photos are not to be used for UNMC websites, and requests for group photos will almost always be referred to an outside vendor.
Before engaging our services, think about how best to use us to tell your college's or department's story. Brainstorm about your public and private interactions and how you get from point A to point B, then consider how photos and videos can convey the mission. In short, think of your web presence as a visual elevator pitch.
