College of Medicine
The UNMC College of Medicine has specific requirements and deadlines for many of the tasks listed on the New Student Instructions page. There are also important additional steps that are required. Please examine menu below thoroughly.

Onboarding Instructions
College of Medicine students are required to complete a background check by Wednesday, July 31, 2024. These background checks are completed through a company called One Source. Please do the following to complete your background check:
- Access the background check form.
- There is a fee for this service, which will be made directly to One Source when you submit the form. Please have a credit card ready to pay the fee.
- Once you submit your One Source background check, you will receive a supplemental email directly from DHHS.CFSCR@Nebraska.gov to complete your Nebraska Adult and Child Abuse registry check. If you have changed your legal name within the last 90 days, the background check must reflect the new name in all sections of the check. The College of Medicine cannot accept documentation with differing legal names.

Order any OFFICIAL final transcripts not already received by UNMC.
Transcripts MUST be received by Wednesday, July 31, 2024.

All students must get their ID badges before Orientation week. Incoming students can start obtaining a badge on Wednesday, July 31, 2024.
Review office hours, what to bring, and driving directions and parking information for the Photo ID Office.
COM students will need to submit a 2024 White Coat Order & Program Response by Monday, July 15 to receive a White Coat for the White Coat Ceremony.
The College of Medicine White Coat Ceremony is on Friday, August 23, 2024 at 2:00PM.
