The University of Nebraska Medical Center Undergraduate enrichment programs are designed for students interested in research and health profession careers.
- Nebraska INBRE Program is aimed at creating a biomedical research infrastructure that provides research opportunities for undergraduate students and serves as a pipeline for those students to continue into graduate research.
- Summer Health Professions Education Program (SHPEP) is a six-week summer academic enrichment program that offers freshman and sophomore college students intensive and personalized health professions education.
- Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURP) a collaboration between UNMC departments, institutes, colleges, student services, and graduate specialty areas to provide summer opportunities for undergraduate students to become members of research teams and discover first-hand the broad spectrum of research activities occurring at UNMC.
- Virginia-Nebraska Alliance is designed to increase minority participation in health care careers, the Virginia-Nebraska Alliance is a partnership between UNMC and 11 Virigina area universities. Many are part of the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) network. Through student summer programs and faculty exchanges, the Alliance seeks to diversify the workforce in areas of patient care and research. An additional goal is to increase funding for research designed to reduce health disparities and improve outcomes.
- Urban Health Opportunities Program (UHOP) is designed to diversify the urban Nebraska medical workforce by identifying and preparing qualified students from underrepresented groups to enter and succeed in medical school.
