Jordan M. Broekhuis, MD, MPH

Dr. Broekhuis is an assistant professor of surgery in the division of surgical oncology. He grew up in Sioux Falls, SD and obtained a BA in music from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He attended medical school at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, graduating with distinction. He went on to complete general surgery residency at the Beth Israel Deaconess/Harvard Medical School Program in Boston, MA. During residency he obtained a Master’s degree in Public Health from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. He completed his fellowship in Endocrine Surgery at the Harvard combined fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
Dr. Broekhuis is an expert in the surgical care of the adrenal, thyroid, and parathyroid glands, including minimally invasive approaches.
Dr. Broekhuis is a member of the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons, the American Thyroid Association, the American College of Surgeons, and the Association for Academic Surgery. His research interests are in access to care in thyroid cancer and policy evaluation.
