The invention of new therapies based upon regenerative medicine is likely to be the most important development in 21st century medicine. The most useful definition for regenerative medicine is “the development of therapies to reconstitute damaged tissues.” There are four primary focus areas in regenerative medicine, listed below from simplest to most complex:
