The Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program at UNMC is part of the Department of Clinical, Diagnostic, & Therapeutic Sciences. Our program offers two campus locations and two specialty tracks. Select the options that are right for you.

General Track
  Cardiovascular Track
 

Plan of study and clinical education focus on the
abdomen, pelvis
and the fetus.

Plan of study and clinical education focus on
blood vessels, adult heart,
and circulatory system.

Each specialty track is 12-months in length consisting of lectures, labs, and over 1000 hours of supervised clinical instruction. A comprehensive knowledge base and clinical competency are achieved through a plan of study that focuses on increasing proficiency under the guidance of qualified faculty.

A Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Imaging & Therapeutic Sciences or a Post Baccalaureate Professional Certificate in Diagnostic Medical Sonography is awarded upon completion of a program. Graduates are eligible to apply to take the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography credentialing exams specific to their field of study.
