The Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program at UNMC is part of the Department of Medical Imaging & Therapeutic Sciences. Our program offers two campus options (Omaha and Kearney) and three specialty tracks. Select the options that are right for you.

Each specialty track is 12-months in length consisting of lectures, labs, and over 1000 hours of supervised clinical instruction. A comprehensive knowledge base and clinical competency are achieved through a plan of study that focuses on increasing proficiency under the guidance of qualified faculty.

A Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Imaging & Therapeutic Sciences or a Post Baccalaureate Professional Certificate in Diagnostic Medical Sonography is awarded upon completion of a program. Graduates are eligible to take the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography credentialing exams specific to their field of study.
