Guidelines for faculty promotion and tenure can be found in this section. Generally, expectations for promotion will be made based on:
- emphasis on teaching;
- research and other scholarly activities;
- patient care; and
- service to the University and community.
Significant achievement must be made in two areas and competence demonstrated in at least one other area of emphasis for promotion to associate professor.
For tenure, the highest level of excellence will be achieved in at least one area of emphasis and continued achievement in two other areas.
