Research Interests
Our laboratory uses biochemical, genetic, and cell biology approaches to investigate the molecular mechanisms of cell death and survival in cancer cells. The Bcl-2 family proteins, which are classified into BH3-only, effectors Bax/Bak, and anti-apoptotic Bcl-2 proteins, are of particular interest to us. We aim to understand how these proteins function as major regulators of cell death and survival, and hope to contribute to the design of more powerful and selective cancer therapeutic drugs.
