2021 GHOP SEED in Physical Therapy program - goes virtual July 12-30 (application deadline June 15)
With the current pandemics, we are bringing our summer program virtually in Summer 2021.
The UNMC Global Health Opportunity Program (GHOP) for Summer Experiential Education (SEED) in Physical Therapy is a three-week online summer program. It is designed for international physical therapy and rehabilitation students who are interested in developing a global perspective on rehabilitation, to learn physical therapy education, research, and practice in the United States.
The SEED virtual program will take place July 12-30, 2021, and will include self-study sessions, online lectures, live discussions, virtual student roundtables, and campus and program presentations.
Faculty from the UNMC physical therapy education program will lead 1-2 hours of online lectures and discussions, or will provide recorded lectures for you to do self-study before 30-40 minutes of live discussions that include, but not limited to the following topics:
- Introduction to the US physical therapy education
- Major topics in Physical Therapy including Neurology, Orthopedics, Cardiopulmonary, Pediatrics, and Cancer Rehabilitation
- Research technology and trend in physical therapy
- Leadership and professionalism
DPT students in the UNMC physical therapy education program will virtually meet with you and share their learning experiences and fun facts about UNMC. You will have the unique opportunity to ask questions about the program and how to apply for our DPT program from the students’ perspective.
The SEED program will arrange several campus/program presentations for you to have a better understanding of the UNMC campus, facilities and resources.
If you have questions, please contact the SEED Program Director, Dr. Joseph Siu (firstname.lastname@example.org)
