Summer Physical Therapy Program

International students have an opportunity to develop a global perspective on rehabilitation and to learn about physical therapy in U.S.

In a three-week online summer program called the UNMC Global Health Opportunity Program for Summer Experiential Education in Physical Therapy, students will virtually experience and learn about U.S. physical therapy education, research and practice.

Program Details

Our online summer program includes self-study sessions, online lectures, live discussions, virtual student roundtables, and campus and program presentations.

Lectures

Faculty from the UNMC physical therapy education program lead online lectures and discussions or provide recorded lectures to be viewed before 30-40 minutes of live discussions that include:

  • Introduction to the U.S. physical therapy education.
  • Major topics in physical therapy, including neurology, orthopedics, cardiopulmonary, pediatrics, and cancer rehabilitation.
  • Research technology and trends in physical therapy.
  • Leadership and professionalism.
Student roundtables
UNMC students in the physical therapy education program will meet with program participants online to  share their learning experiences and fun facts about UNMC, as well as to answer questions about applying for and attending UNMC's physical therapy program.
Campus presentations
Several  presentations help to provide program participants with a better understanding of the UNMC campus, facilities and resources.
