Summer Physical Therapy Program
International students have an opportunity to develop a global perspective on rehabilitation and to learn about physical therapy in U.S.
UNMC Global Health Opportunity Program for Summer Experiential Education in Physical Therapy (SEED) will be held virtually from July 10-28, 2023.
2023 Program (Application open)
Our online summer program includes self-study sessions, online lectures, live discussions, virtual student roundtables, and campus and program presentations.
Program content
Online Lectures
Faculty from the UNMC physical therapy education program lead online lectures and discussions or provide recorded lectures to be viewed before 30-40 minutes of live discussions that include:- Introduction to U.S. physical therapy education.
- Major topics in physical therapy including neurology, orthopedics, cardiopulmonary, pediatrics, and cancer rehabilitation.
- Research technology and trends in physical therapy.
- Leadership and professionalism.
Student roundtables
- UNMC students in the physical therapy education program will meet with program participants online to share their learning experiences and fun facts about UNMC, as well as to answer questions about applying for and attending UNMC's physical therapy program.
Campus presentations
- Several presentations help to provide program participants with a better understanding of the UNMC campus, facilities, and resources.
Clinical facilities meetup
- Representatives from local clinical rehabilitation facilities will join our virtual meetup sessions, present and share their physical therapy practice and clinical education environments with program participants.

When: July 10-28, 2023. 8-10 am (UTC -6), 9-11 pm (UTC +8)
Where: The sessions will be online via zoom.
